Carroll Wayne Netterville, born Sept 16, 1940 in Wilkinson County, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Carroll grew up in Mississippi and spent his adult life in Baton Rouge, where he served in the National Guard before attending Louisiana State University and School of Banking of the South. He enjoyed a successful career in banking spanning over 30 years, including roles as Senior VP of American Bank, President of First National Bank of East Baton Rouge, and in later years as a mortgage banker at Feliciana Bank in Clinton, LA. When Carroll wasn’t in the office, he could be found building furniture for his family in his workshop at home or tending his vegetable garden. He also loved spending time in Mississippi at the place of his birth, the “Ole Place,” where he could hunt and relax.
Carroll is survived by his beloved and devoted former wife Evelyn Keller Netterville, his four children, Tara Netterville Jones, Layna Chase and husband Gerald, Brad Netterville and wife Amanda, Rachel Dabadie and husband Charles; brother William Bridges Netterville; eleven grandchildren, Brenn Gomez, Ryan Jones and wife Allison, Lauren Dabadie, Maggie Dabadie, Blake Jones, Nicholas Chase, Suzanna Dabadie, Benjamin Chase, Mary Evelyn Dabadie, Morgan Netterville, and Caroline Netterville, and one great granddaughter, Rylee Jane Jones, known affectionately as his “Little Dumplin'.” Carroll’s deepest joy stemmed from knowing his children loved one another deeply. Following his example, they treasure one another as much as he treasured each of them.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, Bythol Bridges Netterville and Alma Havard Netterville of Centreville, MS, sister Nadine Netterville Williams of Jackson, MS, brother Edwin Ray Netterville of Woodville, MS and grandson Joseph Charles Dabadie (Charlie), IV. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers along with nephew Ken Williams and lifelong friend Tommy LeGlue as honorary pallbearers. A private memorial service will be held on Monday, March 1st at Centreville United Methodist Church in Centreville, MS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
