Catherine P Politz

Catherine Polito Politz, born May 24, 1938, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025 surrounded by her family. Catherine was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge and a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy. Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Dale J. Politz and wife Anisa; Carla Politz; Russell R. Politz and wife Dana; her grandchildren, Ava Politz, Parker Politz, Juliana Politz, and Madisyn Paige McCarthy; and several first cousins, including Mary Ann Azar and Sandra Weydert.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Anthony J. Politz; her mother, Catherine Barbato LeBeau; her father, Sam Polito; her stepfather, Joseph Roy LeBeau; and her brother, Carlo J. Polito.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14 from 9:30-11:00 AM with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road. Burial to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Denzil “Danny” Moraes and his wife, Shirley Moraes, for their extraordinary support.
