Cathy Jo Ragusa, 63, left this earthly world on September 15, 2022, surrounded by her family and our Heavenly Father. Cathy was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on May 15, 1959, and was a lifelong resident. She was baptized at St. Agnes Catholic Church and was a 1977 class graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy. She had an infectious ability to bring smiles to all she knew. She found solitude and inspiration through family, music, and gardening. She will always be remembered for her generosity and contagious laugh. She is now giggling with the angels. Cathy is survived by her parents, Philip and Lorraine “Peachie” Ragusa; sisters, Terri and Phillis Ragusa; brother, Mark and wife Joanie Ragusa; lifelong friend, Tish Landry; and special cousin and friend, Brett Gautreaux. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. She is preceded in death by grandparents, Ben and Mary Ragusa, as well as Sidney, Sr. and Amy Gautreaux. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Florida Blvd., Friday, Sept. 23 from 9-11AM with a service to follow. Cathy’s family would like to thank the extraordinary ICU staff at the Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet for their impeccable care in her final days. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Joseph’s Academy.
