An engineer with Volks Construction and a resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center at age 61. He was a native of Bogalusa, a 1954 graduate of Bogalusa High School and obtained a bachelor's degree in construction technology from LSU in 1973. Ronnie was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church and a Vietnam-era U.S. Air Force veteran. He is survived by his wife, Pat Henagen Hughes; a brother, Ralph Hughes and wife Mary Lou, of Bossier City; 10 nieces and nephews, other family, friends and beloved canine friend, Trey. He was the son of the late Carlie Hughes, and uncle of the late Mark Garrett Hughes. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Ron Lambe and the Rev.
