

"Born in Lafayette and a resident of Watson, Christine Tranchina passed away at her home on Saturday, January 14, 2017. She was a surgical nurse at Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge and previously worked in similar positions with Baton Rouge General and for Dr. John Williams. Christine is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Irene Tranchina of Watson; parents, Cecil H. and Debra L. Sandlin of Zachary; Godmother, Ramona Moore of Houston, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Megan N. and David W. Bostick of Lewisville, TX; nephews, Tripp and Danny Bostick of Lewisville, TX; Godfather, Jim Sandlin and wife Leslie of Lafayette; uncle, Carl Sandlin and wife Ellie of Thibodaux; cousins, Kirby Schroeder, Shelby Sandlin, Max Sandlin, Jackie Johnson, Jessica Moore, CAS Sandlin and Mary Boudreaux; paternal grandmother, Ruth Sandlin; and maternal grandfather, John LeDoux. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Cecil H. Sandlin and grandmother, Irene LeDoux. Christine was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and had attended Northwestern State University and graduated with honors from Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 6 pm until a Memorial Service at 8 pm.
