
While spending the day on False River with his friends, Christopher Wayne Austin, 20, was killed at 9 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, when the boat he was in was struck by another boat. Christopher was a full-time student at Baton Rouge Community College, where he was developing his creativity through writing screenplays and songs. As a talented musician, Christopher was writing songs with a friend and planned to play locally over the summer. He also worked on weekends for Crescent Crown Distributors as a merchandiser. When someone asked him what he did, he would say, "I am the beer guy." Christopher will be missed greatly by his whole family, including many uncles, aunts and cousins. He was a loving son to his parents, Chris and Kim; a caring brother to his sister, Honor Perry; and a proud uncle to his nephew, Lennon. Christopher was an adoring grandson to his late grandparents, Anton and Bette "Mimi" Brink. He will be missed by his maternal grandmother, Arlyn Perry "Nana." He was the only grandson of his paternal grandfather, Russell Perry; and his devoted great-grandmother, Roseina Perry "Ma-Ma." Visitation will begin at University Presbyterian Church, 3240 Dalrymple Drive, on Saturday, May 23, at 2 p.m. The service will follow immediately at 3 p.m.
