
A retired deputy U.S. marshal and a resident of Baker, he died of cancer at noon Tuesday, March 23, 2010. He was 69, a native of White Castle and an Army veteran. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Friday, March 26, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary prayed at 7 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Charlene Heaton, of First Presbyterian Church, Baker. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Mona McPhate and husband Matthew; grandson, Derrick McPhate, his wife, Kristi, and their children, Brant and Aleigh McPhate; granddaughter, Samantha McPhate; son, Ronald A. Hebert, his wife, Nelwyn, and their children, Brett and Matthew Boyd; sister, Audrey Aucoin Blank and husband Dennis, of White Castle; brother, Dewey Aucoin Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Lafayette; stepdaughter, Rebecca Day Petherem, her husband, Phil, and their children, Tommy Savoy, and Katie Jordan and husband Josh. Preceded in death by his parents, Burnett Hebert and Hilda Callahan Hebert Aucoin. Pallbearers will be Derrick McPhate, Ronald Hebert, Matthew McPhate, Duane Blank, Carey Jenkins and Dewey Aucoin. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Savoy, Jay Stephens, Greg Allen, E.J. Callahan, Tony Mabile, Frank Pearce, Charles Dye, Bill Dye, Dr. Kenneth Meyer and Bo Garrison.
