

“Let us labor for the Master from the dawn to the setting sun. Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care, then when all of life is over and our work on Earth is done, and the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.” Clyde Allen Cooper Sr., 84, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. A longtime resident of Baker, he passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at his home. Clyde served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a brick mason for over 35 years and owned Cooper Masonry. After his retirement, Clyde worked as the maintenance man for Zoar Baptist Church. Clyde had a kind and loving spirit, and often whistled while he worked. He made the best biscuits and everyone knew him as Pawpaw. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 from 5:00 pm til 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue at Zoar Baptist Church on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 from 9:00 am until funeral service at the church at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons. Clyde is survived by his children, Rhonda Cooper Martin, Clyde “Skip” Cooper, Jr. (Susan), Jeffrey Cooper (Vickie), and David Cooper (Tanya); grandchildren, Jennifer Cooper Boe’ (Joel), B.J. Cooper, Sarah Martin Thompson (Joshua), Mackenzie Martin Nudera (Gregory “Ikie”), Brittany Cooper Barnett (Brooke), Joshua Cooper (Stephanie), Keith Cooper, Todd Cooper (Meredith), and Michelle Cooper; great grandchildren, Ethaniel Rizan, Ashton Nudera, Leeland Nudera, Rylan Boe’, Auden Boe’, Ever Boe’, Adalie Boe’, Kaylin Cooper, Bronx Barnett, and Morgan Cooper; sister, Dotsy Scott (Floyd); and brother, Ralph Cooper. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Tiner Cooper, as well as his parents, brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers they were so blessed to have, Claudette, Elizabeth, Maxie, and Yvonne.
