Conrad John Vorhoff, Jr, born October 31, 1947, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones in his 67th year of life on April 14, 2015. A retired accountant with Albemarle Corporation, baseball coach, and Navy veteran, he had a passion and an encyclopedic knowledge for all things baseball. He graduated from St Aloysius High School in New Orleans and Louisiana State University. He will be remembered for making Christmas and Halloween magical for his children and grandchildren with decadent breakfasts filled with bacon, apple pie, and popcorn; boundless generosity; and a willingness to dress up. He will always be remembered as Grandpa Moon for sharing with his grandchildren the endless possibilities in the night's sky. He is survived by his wife, Carol Raub Vorhoff; children, Ashley Vorhoff Bernstein (Ken), Jennifer Vorhoff, and Keith Vorhoff (Brooke); grandchildren Emma Bernstein, Havah Bernstein, Elliette Vorhoff, and Easton Vorhoff; and sister, Karen Vorhoff Duhe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Russell Vorhoff and Conrad John Vorhoff Sr. The family would like to thank Dr Sheldon Johnson at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, the entire staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, as well as the compassionate staff at The Carpenter House of St Joseph's Hospice in Baton Rouge. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 2-4:00pm at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in his name to the American Institute for Cancer Research. May his memory be for a blessing.
