
He was a loving husband and wonderful father, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Amite. He was also a proud and faithful 62-year member of Local 214 Sheet Metal Workers Union and a lifetime LSU Tiger fan. He was a veteran of the Louisiana National Guard. Daniel, 82, died at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at the Butterfly Wing of Hospice of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Friday, Oct. 15, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes Saturday from 10 a.m. until the religious service in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jay Coleman. Interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 53"° years, Mary Grace David Green; three children, Sallie Green Carrier, John R. Green and Melinda L. Green; son-in-law, Timothy W. Carrier; daughter-in-law, Vicky L. Green; two grandchildren, Jonathan W. Carrier and Emily D. Carrier; sister, Rosalee Myers, of Crowley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Daniel was preceded in death by his father and mother, Daniel W. Green Sr. and Sallie Cummings Green; three sisters, Joyce Mae McCain, Mary Jane Culver and Priscilla Jean Graham; and two brothers, James Edward Green and Paul David Green. The family wishes to thank the caring staff of the Butterfly Wing and the skilled nursing facility of the Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid-City for their untiring efforts and gracious manner.
