Darren Paul Zachary Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darren Zachary, who left us unexpectedly on January 17, 2025 at the age of 57. Darren was a music connoisseur and a true outdoorsman at heart, with a passion for hunting and fishing that was only rivaled by the love he had for his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving family: his fiancé, Kara, his children Kayla, Krysta (& Arica), Christopher (& Haley), Kayla (& Josh) and DJ, his grandchildren Bailee, Bryten, Amelia, Arianna, his mother and step-father, Carl and Gaynel, his brother Devin (& Rochelle), and his sister, Darla along with his many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the memories of their time spent together.

Darren is preceded in death by his father, DeWitt Zachary Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Louisiana State Firemen’s Association ensuring that the community Darren loved continues to feel the safety and protection he dedicated his life to.

Darren Zachary will be deeply missed, but his love for life will continue to inspire all who knew him. May he find eternal peace in the vast wilderness beyond.

Relatives and friends are invited to a the chapel of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. Baton Rouge, LA 70802 for a Visitation on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 beginning at 9:00AM until the Memorial service beginning at 1:00PM.
