Darryl B. Johnson

Darryl Brent Johnson, Sr. passed away peacefully on July 10, 2012 at the Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA, surrounded by friends, family and his beloved wife. He was 73 years old and a veteran of the U.S. Navy (1956 "“ 1960). He retired from the East Baton Rouge City Parish in 1990. After retirement, he moved to Walker, LA where he resided until his death. He was a loving husband, inspirational father, and devoted grandfather that will be greatly missed. He is survived by his "Precious" wife of 52 years, Sharlene Scott Johnson, three children, Darryl Brent Johnson, Jr. and wife Lynn, Jill Johnson Pearl and husband James, and Dial Scott Johnson and wife Debora. He had eight grandchildren, Brandon Pearl Johnson, Trey Pearl, Kade Pearl, Kole Pearl, Jade Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Alexandra Johnson and Joshua Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayse and Alvena Johnson, twin brother, Dial Kent Johnson, and sister, Patsy Salard. Pallbearers will be Charles Scott, Joel Scott, Cory Scallan, Cody Scallan, Jan Bullock and Trey Pearl. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Carlisle and Ron De- Laune. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. until religious services at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
