On June 16, 2025, we lost a most unique person. David Doiron was born on May 24, 1962 to Robert and Willie Doiron. His sister, Julee Doiron, was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her little brother, and their strong sibling bond lasted throughout every second of his life. His Down's Syndrome never stopped him from living a full life. He was an athlete, a dancer, a music lover, a singer, an entertainer and the happiest person any of us ever knew. His knowledge, love and appreciation of the pop culture of his generation was enviable. His collection of records, CD's and movies is enough to open a store. His cultural icons included many musicians of the 60's, 70's and 80's, including Elvis, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Kiss and many others. But most especially, he loved Michael Jackson, whose dance moves he could copy, down to the exact step and spin. He loved tough-guy actors like the Duke Boys, Chuck Norris, Mr. T, the Fonz, Hulk Hogan, and various other heroes of the time. Once David graduated from Arlington school, he obtained his dream job working at McDonalds for over 18 years. He was proud of his work and was a reliable employee. As a family member, he was very loyal, open with his love and he had a true heart. He proudly took on the role of "man of the house" after his father passed away ... always protective of his mother as she aged. As a friend, he was the one who would stick up for you, no matter what you were going through. His social skills surpassed what most party-goers would envy. He was happy and outgoing, confident and real - not a phony cell in his body ... a truly genuine soul. Alzheimer's slowly took away all of his abilities and happiness. There will never be another David. He touched so many lives and his departure leaves a huge void in us all. He was predeceased by his father and mother (Robert and Willie Bellue Doiron), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and some very special friends. He is survived by his sister, Julee Doiron, as well as many loving cousins and some dear friends. The family would like to thank the residents and staff at the Mulherin Home in Mobile, AL for their friendship and loving care for the last two years.
The service will be officiated by David's cousin, Barry Bellue. Pallbearers are: Prince Jeffries, Rusty Bellue, Wirt Bellue, Jeffries Morgan, Kevin DeVille and Lee Bellue.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, LA., on Monday, June 23, from 10:30am until service time of 1:00pm
