
A resident of Baton Rouge, David, 69, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Erma Robertson Walsh, and a brother, Walter Walsh Jr. A lifelong Catholic who attended St. Jean Vianney, he was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School, LSU and a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. He is survived by his loving wife, Paula Bonnecarre Walsh; sisters, Ruth Walsh Knox, Frances Walsh Welch; brothers, Dale Patrick Walsh and wife JoAnn, Donald Eugene Walsh and wife Maria, sister-in-law, Lucrecia Walsh. He was a wonderful father to his two sons, Bret Thomas Walsh and wife Simone; Brian Patrick Walsh and wife Corinne; stepdaughters Paulette Callahan and Jamie Marie White and husband Kai. He was a loving grandfather who was always grateful for his five grandchildren, Brendan, Grayson, Annie-James and Connor Walsh and Gabriella White. David was an Irishman who truly loved life and always loved chasing rainbows. He believed that every moment should be lived to the fullest. He always loved the company of family and friends. A hunting blind in the marsh or casting for bass, trout or reds on the coast were his favorite pastimes when he wasn't in the stands cheering for the LSU Tigers. Pallbearers will be Jay Knox, Dean Walsh, Dr. Doug Walsh, Wes Cagle, Brendan Walsh, Grayson Walsh, Dr. William Welch, Connor Walsh. Honorary pallbearers are Clay Richard and Jay Canella. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Jean Vianney Catholic followed by Mass at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be offered in his memory to Sister Dulce's Cypress Springs Mercerderian Prayer Center, 17560 George O'Neal Road, Baton Rouge.
