

He passed away on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at 3:30 a.m. at the Butterfly Wing of Hospice of Baton Rouge after a brief battle with cancer. He was 52, an employee of Saturn of Baton Rouge and a long time resident of Spanish Town. He was an avid reader of history and was interested in Civil War and World War I&II memorabilia. He is survived by his mother, Vivian Young; his sister, Julie Young; his brother, Michael Young and his wife Judi. He is also survived by his nephews, Steven Lastrapes and his wife Danna, Christian Young and his wife Linda; and his niece, Nicole Juneau and her husband Phillip. He is also survived by his special "buddies," Ethan, Noah, Gage, Heaven, Bobby, and Emmy. He was preceded in death by his father Curtis "Buddy" Young. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rabenhorst Funeral Home at 825 Government St. The family would like to thank Dr. Militello and the nurses and staff at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for their care. We would especially like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Butterfly Wing of Hospice of Baton Rouge for their care and compassion. David will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and was the "greatest uncle" in the world!
