

"For the sake of Christ, then I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions and calamites. For when I am weak then I am made strong." David Anthony Zumo, a native of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness of ALS at the St. Joseph Carpenter House on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the age of 52. He worked in sales at REXEL and Capitol Campers. David was a 1977 graduate of Redemptorist High School. He volunteered as an assistant football coach at both Catholic and Bishop Sullivan High Schools. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Kathleen Vince Zumo; daughter, Meghan Zumo; mother, Vivian Tucker Zumo; five siblings, Debbie Rounds and husband Mike, Susan Allen and husband Michael, Peter Zumo and wife Lisa, Eva Kennedy and husband Mac, and Linda George and husband Clifford, Jr. David is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony John Zumo. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at St. George Catholic Church starting at 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Fr. Andrew Merrick with entombment at St. George Mausoleum. Special thanks to Dr. Cullen Hebert and Dr. Carolyn Flint and all his caregivers, especially Robin Hilbun and the St. Joseph Hospice nurse; Bea LaFleur and Brandi Baker also his friends who became family Joe Bergeron and Pat Hannigan and also Neighbors FCU. Pallbearers will be Michael Allen, Joe Bergeron, Jimmy Di Laura, Clifford George, Jr., Pat Hannigan, Mac Kennedy, Mike Rounds, Louis Ruffino III and Frank Rusciano.
