

A native of Doyle, LA, and a resident of Central, La he passed away Wednesday, January 16 at his residence. He was the owner of Lewis' Wrecker Services, Inc. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Eula C. Lewis, of Central, La.; daughter, (Missy) Michelle Lewis and fiance' Kevin L. Keithly, of Central, La.; grandson, John G. Knaps, of Central, La.; granddaughter, Jennifer M. Knaps and fiance' Joel Sicher, of Richmond, Va.; great granddaughter Elona Renae Sicher; brothers, Kenneth E. and Sylvia McKnight Lewis, of Central, La., and Wayne Lewis, of Tyler Town, MS; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fenton (Finnon) and Ruth Yvonne Duffy Lewis; paternal grandparents, Henry W. and Ethel Stewart Lewis; maternal grandparents, John H. and Mary Jane McDonald Duffy; and sister, Fay LaRue Lewis. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home on Tuesday January 22, 2013 from 9 a.m. till service time at 10 a.m. conducted by Deacon Don Ard and Ronald Erickson Sr. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Baker. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Lewis, Jr., Brannon Lewis, Sammy Salvato, Darryl Sandifer, Joel Hancock, Tony Nicosia, Joseph Nations, Sr., and Chase Huval. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin L. Keithly, John G. Knaps, Glenn A. Knaps, John Moak, Rene' Castille, Albert Castille, Jr., Jim Coates, Dennis Rabalais. Dennis was a long-standing member of Central Area Business Association / Central City Chamber of Commerce. He has been an active participant in coordinating the Central Christmas Parade for many years. Former member of the Central Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors. Former Board of Directors of the Towing and Recovery Professional of Louisiana and a current member of the Towing and Recovery Association of America. The American Towman Magazine recognized Dennis Lewis and Lewis' Wrecker Service, Inc. as one of the most experienced towing companies in the country (March 1990 issue). Featured in Towing and Recovery Footnotes "A Rambling Wreck" 2004, 2011 Inductee in the Central City Business Hall of Fame. The family would like to thank St. Joseph's Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Dennis.
