Dennis Pennington Smith was born on February 21, 1954, in Baton Rouge, LA and passed too soon on September 25, 2021, surrounded by love, loved ones, memories, and song. The middle of five children, he was active and adventurous to his core. He would frequent Leo’s Roller Rink where he met his future wife of 46 years, Wendall. He was a man of many trades. He owned and ran Indian Mound Car Care, (had a passion for classic cars), created and made custom jewelry, and managed several rental properties. Even with all of this, Dennis always made time for his family and friends. With the heart of an overachiever and one to do whatever he could to help anyone, he will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Cecil Sr. and Jenny Smith; and older brother, Gary Smith. His memory will be kept alive by his eternally adoring wife, Wendall Smith; two children, Bradley Smith and Annalea Watson (Chris); three grandchildren, Katelyn Smith, Zoë Watson and William Watson; brother, Cecil Smith, Jr.; and sisters, Sue Cooper and Janet Smith. Family and friends are invited to come celebrate Dennis’ life on Saturday October 2, 2021, at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, from 10AM until the time of funeral services at 12PM. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.greenoaksfunerals.com
