Derlyne Booker Kent

It is with heavy hearts the passing of Derlyne Booker Kent is recognized, who left this world on October 23, 2024, at the age of 90. Derlyne was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her cherished son, Tommy A. Kent; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Richard Hill; her dear brother, Ben Booker; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Derlyne's family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in nurturing and supporting each one of them.

Derlyne’s home was a sanctuary filled with love, where she opened her heart to countless children over the years, providing them with care and compassion. Their laughter and happiness filled her life with purpose, and she found great joy in the many memories they created together.

Preceded in death by her devoted husband, Thomas W. Kent, Derlyne’s legacy of love and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a cause that was dear to Derlyne’s heart.

She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her gentle spirit and the love she shared so freely.
