

Dolores Gautreau Braud, a native of Gonzales and a resident of French Settlement, passed away on August 10, 2021 at the age of 81. Dolores was a graduate of Gonzales High School. She retired from Food Town after 20 years as a cashier. She enjoyed hunting and spending time at the deer camp with her family. She was a competitive skeet shooter, where she participated in many tournaments across the U.S. winning titles at local, state, and national levels. She and Emmett enjoyed traveling, whether it was in their early years playing softball or on family vacations. Dolores loved LSU baseball and tailgating. She especially liked traveling to Omaha and supporting the Tigers at the college world series. She liked to read, play with her dog, Rocky, gardening, and growing her flowers and plants. She also loved accompanying her sister Judy to watch her brother-in-law Lionel play in the band Na Na Sha!! Dolores will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Emmett Braud, Jr.; son, Mark and wife Kristina; granddaughter, Noelle; siblings, Judy Lambert, Elizabeth "Jane" Guitreau, Richard Gautreau, Kenneth Gautreau, Reed Gautreau and Barry Gautreau. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Laura Dille Gautreau. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 4 pm until 7 pm and will resume on Monday from 10 am until time of funeral service at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Kenneth Gautreau, Barry Gautreau, Lyle Matherne, Jimmy Attuso, Scott Dupuy and Louis Lambert.
