

Donald Dean Ashmore was born on September 3, 1927, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He passed away on October 17, 2024, at Ollie Steel Burden Manor in Baton Rouge at the age of 97. He was a retired instrument technician, working at Kaiser Aluminum for 35 years, he was also an instructor at ITI Technical College, and a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in WWII. He served as an usher at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree). Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Jo Ann Piper Ashmore; his daughters: Kelly Ashmore Caffarel (John) and Carolyn Ashmore Hingle (Barry); and his son, Michael “Mickey” Edward Ashmore (Donna). He is also survived by five grandchildren: Tiffany Hingle Moore (Jeremy), Ty Hingle (Allyson), Michelle Lebouef (Ryan), Kimberly Ashmore, and Kayla Caffarel; as well as six great-grandchildren: Baron Hingle, Hayden Hingle, Brady Moore, Scarlett Moore, Tegan Lebouef, and Cora Lebouef. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Charles Ashmore and Ethel Dean Ashmore. Serving as Pallbearers will be Brady Moore, Baron Hingle, Hayden Hingle, Ty Hingle, John Caffarel, Ryan Lebouef, and Jeremy Moore. Barry Hingle will be an Honorary Pallbearer.
