"Donald Anthony Babin, a native of Plaquemine and a resident of Prairieville, passed away on December 20, 2016 at the age of 69. He was a master carpenter, an avid outdoorsman, and a loving husband and caring father. He is survived by his wife, Kay N. Babin of Prairieville; sons, Andrew Riggins and Mark Riggins of Geismar; daughters, Melisa Long of California, Kimberley Babin of Gulfport, MS, Tracy Babin of New Orleans; sister, Carmelite Engler of Walker; brothers, Charles Babin, Jr. of Plaquemine, and Lyndon Babin of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Jye, Ashtyn, Andrew, Ethan, Emma, Alex, Kennedy, Ashley, and Asia; nephews, Norman, Joseph Jr., Chad and Lynn Jr.; nieces, Tammy and Susan; grand nieces, Natalie and Haleigh; friends, Larry, Ruby Tujague, Patricia, Edward Fagot, Eddie, and Missy Fagot. He is preceded in death by parents, Charles Joseph Babin Sr. and Edna Lynn Ruiz Babin. There will be a graveside service on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East is in charge of the arrangements.
