Doris Hebert Devall

Our mom, Doris H. Devall, passed peacefully on June 2, 2022, in Zachary, Louisiana, at 99 years of age. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved Jesus with all of her heart. She was a devoted member of Grace Presbyterian Church.

Mom was raised in Baton Rouge. In 1946 she married the love of her life, Archie Devall Jr. Together they had three children. Douglas (Georgia) passed away in 2009. Mom is survived by her daughter, Margaret Harris (Cecil) and son, Keith (Sue), 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mom was a person of many talents and interests. She loved to paint flowers and pastoral scenes and did so beautifully. More importantly, she spent hours each day studying scripture and was eager to share her faith with others.

Though we loved our mom and are saddened by her passing, at the same time we have joy knowing she is safe in the hands of her Lord.

Our family would like to offer our thanks for the many special people who cared for mom as we walked through this difficult time. My mom and our entire family have come to love each and every care giver: Oakwood Village Assisted Living (Zachary): Christy, Samaria, Sade, Flo, Charita, Debra, Carla, Shemeca, and Melissa. Lane Regional Medical Center: Dr. Anderson, Dr. Longmire, Jenna (ER), and Jessica. Hospice of Baton Rouge: Summer and Jessica. Lane Home Health: Keri and Brianna. And Julie Siverd (granddaughter). Viewing will be at Grace Presbyterian Church on Joor Road on June 7th, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 11:00. Burial will follow in the Devall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifting of Gideon Bibles.
