

Dorothy May Landry Miller, born August 3, 1921, native of Port Allen and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully Monday, July 4, 2016 at the age of 94. "Dot", "Dottie", "MiMi" was devoted to her family and a loyal friend to many. Her kindness, wit, charm, and smile will be remembered by all who had the opportunity to know her. Visitation at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Friday, June 8, 2016 from 9:00am "“ 10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Burial following at Roselawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Miller is survived by and will be deeply missed by her granddaughter, Lindsey Prejean Ashford and husband Jared; her grandson Blake Prejean and wife Laura Beth; 2 great grandchildren, Will and Camille Prejean; her sister, Joyce Landry Millard along with numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband John E. Miller, her daughter, Vanessa Miller Prejean, her parents, Dr. Paul B. and May Bourg Landry, her five brothers, Jumel Barker Landry, Judge Paul B. Landry Jr., Dr. Louis Vernon Landry, Thomas Erwin Landry, Myrton J. Landry, her two sisters, Elmire Clara Booth and Marie Marjorie Tuell. Her zest for life was expressed through entertaining, socializing, decorating, travel, reading, appreciation for great food, lively card games, and time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. She was a graduate of Port Allen High School and employed for many years at the Bank of West Baton Rouge, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a devoted volunteer, supporter of the West Baton Rouge Museum and genealogist of the Landry family. A toast to "Dottie" for a life well-lived, filled with gratitude, grace, compassion and love.
