Dorothy Hardy Rainey

"Dorothy Hardy Rainey, a native of Philadelphia, MS and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away at her daughter's home on August 13, 2016 at the age of 71. She was retired from Penn National Gaming at Hollywood Casino in Baton Rouge, and a member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Alisa Villar and husband Mike of St. Amant, Suzanne Pardue of Panama City, FL, and Walt Rainey and wife Melissa of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Jennifer Hawkins and husband Jason, Nikki Thomassie, Becky Thomassie, Ashley Sturdivant, and Logan Rainey; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jean Veasey, Betty Tanner, and Gail Ryals; and aunts, cousins, and numerous friends. And a special little dog, Milo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Prentiss Rainey; parents, Bernard and Helen Kilpatrick Hardy; brothers, Joe Hardy and Rudy Hardy. Visitation will be Friday, August 19, 2016 at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church from 12:30 until a Memorial Mass at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Fr. Tom Ranzino. A private burial will be scheduled at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Villar, Jason Hawkins, Ethan Hawkins, Wayne Veasey, Cliff Goodwin, Mel Tanner, James Ryals, Joey Goodwin, Jeff Goodwin, Matt Veasey, Josh Goodwin, Rudy Lopez, and Jo Ryals.
