Dorothy J Waddell

Dorothy “Dot” Rimes Waddell, 86, resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on August 27, 2024. Dot was born on April 6, 1938 in Tangipahoa, LA to the late Hugh, Sr. and Anna Rimes. She was retired from Service Merchandise as a jewelry sales consultant for over 25 years. Dot loved gardening, embroidering, watching the New York Yankees baseball, but most of all, spending time with her friends and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Dot is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Waddell, Jr.; sisters, Mary R. Brumfield, Virginia R. Bourgeois, and Ann R. Courtney; and her son-in-law, David Minckler. She is survived by her son, Kyle Mitch Waddell, Sr. (Brenda); daughter, Linda Waddell Minckler; grandchildren, Ashley Cushing, Kyle M. Waddell, Jr., Shane Waddell (Dustie), Ethan Waddell, and Aaron Minckler (Michaela); great grandchildren, Amelia and Hadley Waddell; brother, Hugh “Bubba” Rimes (Linda), Jr.; and sister-in-law, Norma Waddell Langlois; and a special former daughter-in-law, Denise Waddell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
