Douglas E. Broussard, 64, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Sunday March 7, 2010 at the Baton Rouge General Mid-City Hospital. Douglas was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired insurance agent with over 40 years in the business. He was an avid boatman and loved to travel. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday March 10, 2010 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM and continuing on Thursday March 11, 2010 from 12:00PM until time of services at 2:00PM. Entombment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Rev. Ron Lambe will be presiding over the services. Douglas is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gladys Broussard; two daughters: Rebecca Pope and Brandy Heckman; step-son James Viger, Jr.; sister Rebecca Collins and husband Robert; and four grandchildren: Kaitlyn Viger, Jordyn Pope, Blake Heckman, and Corey Heckman. Douglas is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Newlyn Broussard. Douglas was a member of the Louisiana Homebuilders Association and the Capital Regions Builders Association.
