John 3:16.Douglas Scott Mixon, beloved son and father, native of Houston and resident of Baton Rouge, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was 51. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed cooking and hunting, and the LSU Tigers. He is survived by his parents, Wallace L. "Butch" Mixon, Jr. and Judy Barrow Mixon; two daughters, Rachel Elizabeth Mixon and Caroline Abigail "Abby" Mixon; his son, Adam Scott Mixon; and his granddaughter, Lola Scott Mixon. He is also survived by 2 brothers: Craig Barrow Mixon and Kathy Hardquist Mixon, and Todd Wallace Mixon and Brianne Callihan; a niece, Anna Claire Mixon; seven nephews: Blake Douglas Mixon, Reid Patrick Mixon, Ryan Christopher Mixon, Hayden Barrow Mixon, Tyler Jacob Mixon, Blake Douglas Mixon, Jr., and Lane Daniel Mixon; and aunts and uncle: Everett and Jean Barrow, Lynn and Janelle Nunley of Johns Creek, GA, and Bobby and Connie Jones also of Johns Creek, GA. He is also survived by numerous cousins and extended family members, as well as dear and caring friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Everett and Edith Barrow; and by his paternal grandparents, Wallace and Clara Lea Mixon. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, on Saturday, November 9, 2013, from 12pm until Memorial Service at 2pm.
