

A beloved husband, father and grandfather, he died Monday, April 16, 2012 at 3 p.m. He was 87, a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He retired from Allied Chemical Plant after 32 years as a Traffic Manager. He was a veteran of WWII, a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Medical Corp, 80th Infantry Division. He attended Tulane Medical School and was a graduate of LSU in Baton Rouge in 1954 with a B.S. in Education. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Faye Capone Brown; two sons, Barry M. Brown, Sr. and Dale J. Brown; one daughter, Karen L. Brown; two grandchildren, Barry M. Brown, Jr. and Jennifer F. Dupree; and two greatgrandchildren, Emily and Juliet Dupree. Duffy belonged to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church where he was a member of The Holy Name Society, Family of Praise Prayer Group, Lector, Commentator and Eucharistic Minister. We were blessed to have Duffy who so greatly enriched our lives with his steadfast faith and his calming presence. Special thanks to family care giver, Laura Gray. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Boulevard on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. and Friday, April 20, 2012 at Our Lady of Mercy Church from 1-2 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. Interment to follow service at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
