

Earl Thomas Blanchard “Brother Earl”, a native of Brusly St. Martin, LA, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017, at the age of 82. Earl was retired from Local Union 102 as a heavy equipment mechanic in plants in the Plaquemine and Donaldsonville areas. He was an excellent mechanic and he was able to troubleshoot and repair anything presented to him. He was also very active in “Helps Ministry” and “Outreach Ministries” for churches in the Baton Rouge and Port Allen areas. “Brother Earl” is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce Falcon Blanchard; his son, Chris N. Blanchard and wife, Lara; his granddaughter, Brooke Blanchard Rimpela and husband, Charlie; two sisters, Ruby B. Hernandez and Denise B. Aucion and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Noe and Genevieve Blanchard; two sisters, Alenia Dugas and Lee Anna Henry; two brothers, Claude J. Blanchard and Oliver J. Blanchard and infant daughter, Belinda Ann Blanchard. Visitation will be held Friday, March 10, 2017, at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 2:00PM. Burial will immediately follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The service will be conducted by Pastors Rickey Howell, Sr. and Randy Henry.
