P. “Earl” Keene, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA and native of Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the age of 84. Born on December 9, 1927 to Charles and Emma Jane Keene, he was one of ten children. He was an US Army veteran, where he was a tank Sergeant in the Korean Conflict. Earl retired from American Standard and was an active member of Parkview Baptist Church. He loved working with his church and enjoyed family activities. Earl was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed dearly by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wanda Sumrall Keene; one daughter, Brenda K. Gunter and husband Ken; three sons, Randy Keene and wife Susan, Daryl Keene and wife Lisa, and Bryan Keene; 8 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; sister, Marie Bryant; brother, Curtis Keen; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 12pm until service at 2pm.
