Sonny died at 5:30am Monday, December 02, 2013, at his residence in Greenwell Springs. He was 73. Sonny was a native of Ruleville, Mississippi. He is survived by his wife of 39 years: Carol; his son: Nathan Mitchell&his wife Vanessa; and a grandson: Nathan; two brothers: Joseph "Murray" Mitchell&wife Iris, Larry Mitchell&wife Annette; sisters: Marian Robillard, and Janet Messina&husband Wayne. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents: Marion&Margaret Mitchell. Visitation will be held Wednesday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, from 10:30am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Duhe'. A private graveside service will be held at a later date for family members. A reception will follow the Mass for everyone where friends and family will be able to share their memories of Sonny.
