Edward John Grandeury, Jr. “E.J.”, “Coach”, “FD”, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022, at the age of 76. After graduating from Istrouma High School and attending LSU, E.J. went on to play professional baseball for the Boston Red Sox. As hobbies, he coached fast pitch softball, was a hitting coach for BRCC and played pool. Eventually, E.J. retired from Local 406 after 40+ years of service. E.J. is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mandy; son, John; grandchildren, MacKenzie, Bentley and L.J.; one great-grandchild on the way; and a host of other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Elsie Grandeury. There will be a Memorial Gathering at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 4pm to 8pm. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Ochsner Hospital and LVAD unit in New Orleans, as well as all of his LVAD family and friends.
