Edward P. Gurry, of Baton Rouge, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010, after a long illness. He was born in Jacksonville, Fla., Jan. 1, 1922, and soon afterwards his family moved to New Orleans where he was educated. After serving in the U.S. Army inWorld War II, he moved to Baton Rouge where he built a successful business. Preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Ethel Gurry; sister, Faye Rosenberg; and son, Jack Gurry. He is survived by a brother, Jack Gurry, New Orleans; sister, Lillian Rodos, New Orleans; son, James Gurry, New Orleans; daughters, Jane Buckman and Tammy Chutz, both of New Orleans, Jennifer Thompson, Walker, and Jessica Andrade, Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viewing at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Monday, June 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and funeral service Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery.
