A native of Chatawa, Miss., and a resident of Central City, he died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. He was 92. He was a retired Louisiana School Teachers Retirement System employee and a teacher and former superintendent of the Bogalusa School System. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Sunday, April 25, was from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside service at the McGehee Cemetery, Bogalusa, Monday, April 26, at 11 a.m. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Jennings McCormick; two grandchildren, Brent McCormick and Dyan Stockstill: three great-grandchildren, Ashley Stockstill, Caroline McCormick and Thomas Edward McCormick: two stepchildren, James Stelly and Linda Shiflett and husband Norman; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wives, Eleanor McCormick and Faye McCormick; a son, Dr. Don L. McCormick; four sisters, Chris Lord, Edith Stiner, Alice Jennings and Jean Edmonson; and three brothers, James, Phillip and Joseph McCormick. Special thanks to Dr. Brad Smith and Peoples Health.
