
A loving mother, homemaker and soul mate, she passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at 1:06 p.m. at her home in Baton Rouge surrounded by caring family members. She was 71 and a native of St. Louis. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday in the chapel from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ken Carroll. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her husband, Dr. James R. Calvin; daughter, Pamela M. Mahoney and husband Richard B. Mahoney, Hardy, Ark.; four sons, Lon E. Calvin, Baton Rouge, Douglas P. Calvin, Tampa, Fla., Chris D. Calvin and wife Amy O. Calvin, Richmond, Texas, and Timothy W. Calvin and wife Susan A. Calvin, Suwanee, Ga.; brother, Lee Edward Thomure, St. Louis; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Edward Julius Thomure and Marie Elsie Heeter Thomure. Pallbearers will be Lon Calvin, Doug Calvin, Chris Calvin, Tim Calvin, Nick Calvin and John Mahoney. She attended Anderson College in Indiana and was a member of Baton Rouge Women's Tennis Association, U.S. Tennis Association, East Baton Rouge Medical Auxiliary and formerly of Twelfth-Nighters. She was a Cub Scout den mother and a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Hospice of Baton Rouge or a charity of your choice.
