Elaine Pillsbury Gardiner died unexpectedly at her home in Baton Rouge at 6 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2008. She was born in Washington, D.C., on May 25, 1941. Elaine worked in the travel industry for most of her life and was currently with Gulf South Travel. Preceded in death by her father, James Frank Ivy; and husband, William C. Gardiner. Survived by her mother, Dorothy R. Ivy; aunt, Mary Stine, of La Plata, Md.; sister, Pat Spinks and husband Andy; daughters, Elizabeth Harrison and husband Paul and Holly Surratt and husband Dennis; son, Robert Law III and wife Erica; and six grandchildren. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, May 28, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery.
