
Elisa was a loving, devoted, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a native of Paincourtville, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge since 1940. She died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at her residence in Baton Rouge. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Neila and Richard Eckler, Clifford Jr. and Natalie Comeaux, Deanie Bahan, Ann and Thomas Legleu and Walter Comeaux, II; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Elisa was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dr. Clifford C. Comeaux; son-in-law, Mark Bahan; grandson, Stephen Eckler; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. LeBlanc; and seven brothers and sisters; Robert E. LeBlanc, Jr., Dr. Joseph E. LeBlanc, Georges E. LeBlanc, Durand E. LeBlanc, Marie Therese LeBlanc, Yvonne LeBlanc and Noelie LeBlanc Fitzgerald. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Michael Eckler, Patrick Eckler, Clifford Comeaux, III, Elisa Clare Babin, Remy Gross, III, Christen Legleu, Catherine White, Neila Stone, Walter Comeaux, III, Brian Comeaux and Allyson Comeaux. Elisa graduated from Northwestern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1934. She was past president and lifetime member of the Louisiana Sixth District Dental Auxiliary, past president of the Delphian Society and Penser et Parler, past president and board member of the Baton Rouge Eye Bank Auxiliary and Lifetime member of Our Lady of Mercy Altar Society. The family would like to give special thanks to her devoted friend, Ethel DeLage, and her faithful caregivers, Tammy Kerbow and Stacey Thornhill. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church celebrated by Fr. Cleo Milano. Entombment followed at Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum.
