Elizabeth"Betsy"Bailey Adamek

Elizabeth "Betsy" Bailey Adamek died peacefully on April 1, 2013. She was 80 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Robert "Bob" Adamek, Jr., her parents, and her brother, Miles A. Bailey, Jr. She is survived by her 5 children, Kim Melancon and her husband Thom; Curt Adamek and his wife Kathy; Tom Adamek and his wife Lisa; Kara Adamek; and Krista Rippel and her husband Jeff; 23 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Betsy was born in Rochester, New York and was a long-time resident of Baton Rouge. She was a graduate of SUNY-Buffalo and spent her early adult life raising her five children. She was a Realtor in the Baton Rouge community and was a past Board member of the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors. Betsy was a long time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution where she served in many capacities, including Regent. One of her favorite past times was playing bridge with her friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6th, at 2:00 p.m. at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street. Visitation will begin at noon. A private burial service will be held at Port Hudson National Cemetery.
