

Ellen Kay Bellows, lifetime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the age of 67. She lived a very active and interesting life. Ellen graduated Broadmoor High School and attended McNeese and Southeastern. She worked in chemical plants and office settings. Ellen was a retired home decorating seamstress and drapery consultant for 30 years. She was a caregiver to her mother, Lucy for over 12 years. Ellen was preceded in death by both of her parents, Clyde and Lucy Bellows, along with several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Long and Judy Lanoux; nieces and nephews, Martha Long Kent and husband Wayne, John R. Long and wife Natalie, and Lindsey Lanoux; great nieces, Morgan Kent and Jordan Kent; cousins, Don, Diane, Andy, Angela and Ashleigh Holden; and her beloved friend, Tina Distefano. To all her “sisters in sewing” a heartfelt thanks for passing on your sewing wisdom, kindness, friendship, and love. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
