

A native of Osyka, MS and a resident of Baker, LA, she passed away Sunday evening, July 3, 2016, at her home. She was 94. She was a graduate of Progress High School in Progress, MS, Co-Lin Jr. College in Wesson, MS, and the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. She taught school in Meadville, MS, worked in the lab at Esso in Baton Rouge during WWII, and was a homemaker after the war. She has been an active member of Brownsfield Baptist Church, Foster Road Baptist Church, and, in more recent years, Bethany World Prayer Center. She served as Cub Scout leader for many years, and was also active in PTA at Brownsfield Elementary School during the 1950s and 1960s. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Saturday, July 9, 2016, from 2pm until memorial service at 3pm. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Kay Winburn (Mike) of Denham Springs, LA; and sons: Arnold T. "Doc" Stevens (Lyn) of Osyka, MS, and Terry Scott Stevens of Baker, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael Scott Stevens (Marcy), Eric Raiford Stevens (Carla), Brandon Scott Stevens (Amanda), Blake Matthew Stevens, Alison Michele Stevens, Marc Edward Stevens, Nicholas Paul Stevens, Jennifer Krumholt Allen (Joey), Steven Randal Krumholt (Marty), Sarah Krumholt Soldat (Christian), and Cory Alan Winburn; as well as 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Scott and Bessie Simmons Tate; her son, Michael Alex Stevens; her husband, Arnold T. Stevens, Sr.; and her sister and brother-in-law, Annie Marie and L.D. Williamson. Special thanks to her caregiver, Betty Bradley; and to her special friend, Sarah Rentz.
