
Elsie Dawson White, widow of Sanford R. White, died at 2 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 90, born Feb. 10, 1918, in Jackson to Mr. and Mrs. William L. Dawson. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, May 18, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 11 a.m. until funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m., conducted by Dr. David Womack. Interment will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by a daughter, Lynn White Latona and husband John; daughter-in-law, Helen White; seven grandchildren, Denise McLaurine and husband Mark, Dennis White and wife Jaylyn, Dean White and wife Sonya, Dana Blount and husband Greg, Michael Latona, Chris Latona, and David Latona and wife Lisa. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Milan Latona, Dawson, Morgan and Addison Latona, Jacob and Joshua White, Elizabeth and Caroline White, Cole and Clay Blount, and Luke McLaurine. She was preceded in death by a son, Rodney White; and three sisters, Dorothy Scholle, Viola Harris and Mary Jo Auter. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and a nephew, Cliff Jarreau. She was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care given to Mrs. White by Stanacola Home Health, especially Susan and Willie, and Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Cindy and Jennifer.
