Elva Lowe, resident and native of Baton Rouge, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the age of 87. She was a member of Greenwell Springs Baptist church. Elva enjoyed sewing, singing, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who is survived by her daughter, Charlotte McCrory and husband, S.O. “Tinker” McCrory; grandchildren, Paul McCrory, Travis McCrory and spouse, Becca King-McCrory, Christine Hilbun and spouse, Farrell Hilbun, and great grandchildren, Tristen McCrory, Sheila McCrory, Jilyan King, Sena Hilbun, Lilly Sprouse, and Damien Sprouse. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruby Hogan; sister, Helen Hudson; daughter, Sheila Sprouse; grandson, Douglas Sprouse and great grandson, Paul J. McCrory,Jr. A funeral service will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10AM officiated by Brother George Threeton, Elva’s Senior Adult Pastor.
