Emerson Wilburn Dougherty

E.W. Dougherty passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018, at the age of 90. He was a native and a lifelong resident of Central, LA. E.W. was a Navy veteran that served his country in WWII. He loved to garden, work on anything mechanical, enjoyed auctions, cooking and looked forward to spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all and remembered for his love of life, great sense of humor and being a great mentor to many. E.W. is survived by his son, Reggie “Blue” Baker and wife, Betty; grandchildren, Layne Baker and wife, Brandi, Chad Baker, and Dustin Baker and wife, Felicia; great-grandchildren, Layna, Gabriel, Billy, Cory, Carmen and Beau; great-great-grandchildren, Adella and Zoey; sisters, Verl Blankenship and husband, George, Geraldine Kleinpeter and Yvonne Watts; and nieces, Melinda, Jacquelyn, Rachael and Amelia. E.W. is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Baker Dougherty; parents, Wilburn and Martha Dougherty; sister, Audrey Robertson; nephew, Leevan Randal; and his four-legged fur baby, Katie Lou. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, February 23, 2018, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks on Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 9:00AM until the time of funeral service at 10:00AM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
