Emma Hebert Hooper

"Hooper, Emma HebertEmma grew up on the bayou in Montegut, LA and was a long time resident of Baton Rouge.  She was a graduate of Terrebone High School and Meadows Draughon Business College.   She passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2016, at her residence.  Emma was a legal secretary with Ellison & Ellison, Attorneys at Law for thirty years.  A born and raised Christian, she was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  She had a passion for cooking, gardening, sewing, animals, and caring for others.  Emma is survived by her daughter, Tanya Moore and husband, Peter, of Dallas, TX; sister, Carol H. Donnes and husband, John, of Gretna, LA; brother, Allen J. Hebert, Jr., and wife, Kay, of Montegut, LA;  her nieces and nephews, and her Rottweiler, Gracie.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Lee Hooper, Jr.; son, Kevin Hooper, of Baton Rouge; parents, Allen Joseph Hebert, Sr., and Rita Deroche Hebert, of Montegut, LA.  Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Boulevard, Friday, August 5, 2016, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.  Visitation continues Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Avenue, from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am celebrated by Rev. Miles Walsh.  Entombment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, 550 Lobdell Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70806, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70806 or  Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2250 Main Street, Baton Rouge, LA  70802.
