

Emmitt Clyde "EC" Howard, a native of Glynn, LA, raised in Bogalusa, LA, and a resident of St. Francisville, LA, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the age of 94. He founded Red Stick Armature Works in 1959 and continued to work there until the age of 92. EC served during WWII and was a survivor of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. After Pearl Harbor, he also survived the sinking of the USS NECHES after it was torpedoed. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. His favorite hobby other than work was spending time in his garden. EC is survived by his children, Sharon Howard, Sallie H. Lewis, E. Carey Howard and wife, Cathy, and William B. "Billy" Howard; grandchildren, Darin Hunt, Tammy Napoli, Jarred Monson, Carick "Joe" Howard and wife, Ava, Casey Howard and wife, Kayla, and Alexis Howard; great-grandchildren, Niki Brommer and husband, Nick, Evan Pourciau, Madison Napoli, Olivia Howard and Emerson "Little EC" Howard, Gracen Howard; great-great-grandchildren, Brandon, Nicolas, Daniel, and Harmony Brommer; his current wife, Verlon Howard; and brother, William "Dubb" Watts. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years and the mother of his children, Rosalie Howard; grandson, Ross Lewis; and his parents. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 12:30 p.m. until Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
