A retired Research Physicist for Dow Chemical, he was a resident of Baton Rouge, and born in Merigold, MS. Ernest passed away Saturday April 7, 2012, he was 86. He was a retired US Army Colonel, having served both active duty and reserve duty. He served in WW II as an Infantry Rifleman. Visitation will be on Tuesday April 10, 2012 at St. John's United Methodist Church from 12pm till service time at 2pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Ernest is survived by his wife Alice Faye Polk Graves; two daughters Jane Graves and Beth Sellen and husband Rusty; two sons Ernie Graves and wife Diane and Mike Graves; brother Bob Graves; six grandchildren Dena Sellen Jarski and husband Justin, Brian Sellen, Scott, Dan, Joey and Kelly Graves. He was preceded in death by his parents, and first wife Jessie Graves. Ernest was an Eagle Scout, and he was a Scout Master for troop #211 at St. John's Methodist Church for thirty years.
