
A lifetime resident of Baton Rouge who was born in Donaldsonville on Jan. 3, 1927, he died peacefully Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at the Southeast Louisiana Veteran's Home. Morgan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and wonderful friend to everyone. He was a graduate of Catholic High School, class of 1943, and LSU where he earned a master's degree in physics. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum as a physicist in the research and development group. Morgan was a longtime member of St. Thomas More Church and a charter member of the choir where he sang every Sunday for many years. Morgan is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Judy V. Stuart; three sons, Joseph Y. Stuart, Michael O. Stuart, and James Prescott Stuart; four stepchildren, Victoria G. Lee, James M. Graves, Terri L. Johnston and Glenn P. Graves; eight grandchildren, E. Morgan Stuart, Sophia Stuart, Brandon Graves, Brent Graves, Brad Graves, Ashley J. Scott, Blake Johnston, and Aaron Morgan Johnston. Preceded in death by his parents, E.M. "Vannie" Stuart and Jeanne Fortier Stuart; brother, James F. Stuart; son, E.M. "Van" Stuart; daughter, Mary Morgan Stuart; and first wife, Myrthe Baker Stuart. Pallbearers will be Eugene Morgan Stuart, Brandon Graves, Brent Graves, Brad Graves, Blake Johnston, and Aaron Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Baton Rouge Chapter or your charity of choice. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Visiting at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
