A resident of French Settlement, she died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Lane Regional Medical Center, Zachary. She was 88 and a native of Bogalusa. Graveside service at Ponemah Cemetery, Bogalusa, on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Billy Galloway, under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. Survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Sharon King and David and Nancy King; four grandchildren, Curtis King, Marty King, Cherese Arnold and Collin King; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cecil King; two sisters, Helen Grimes and Louise Spears; and brother, Edward Scruggs. She was a member of Foster Road Baptist Church and Jasmine chapter of Order of the Eastern Star in Bogalusa.
