Laura Evelyn Traylor, a retired employee of the Louisiana State Office of Tourism, died on Monday, July 3, 2023, the day before her 93rd birthday. A visitation will be held from 9:00am until 10:30am at St. James Episcopal Church on Friday, July 14, 2023, with the funeral service to follow. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Evelyn, affectionately known as “Punkin” by her friends and family, is preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Traylor and Alan Gautreau; parents, Clarence and Irene Pilcher; sisters, Frances Troxler, Gladys Starnes, Gwin Cuomo and brother Henry Pilcher. Punkin is survived by her children, Carol and Bruce Stamey, Sue Larisey, Keith and Ann Traylor and Barry and Jill Traylor; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Evelyn was an elegant and beautiful woman who travelled the world and loved her family. She was devoted to her Christian faith as a former member of the Eastern Star, Episcopal Church Women and volunteered at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. James Episcopal Church.
